Elena
This design is inspired by the Designer’s beautiful baby daughter Elena.
In Greek Elena stands for bright and shining light. According to Greek Mythology Elena was the most beautiful woman in all of Greece. She was the daughter of the god Zeus and Leda the queen of Sparta who was seduced by Zeus when he took the form of a swan.
Elena was married to king Menelaos but was given away by the goddess Aphrodite to Prins Paris of Troy.
The ornament
The exquisite ornament is of beautiful golden olive leaves with sparkling stones each one made by hand.
In Greece the olive tree is a great symbol and is attested to by many mythological stories. An olive branch symbolizes peace and friendship and victory. Olive wreaths called kotinos (Greek: κότινος) was also a prize when you won at the ancient Olympic Games.
